This is a hands-on workshop for all skill levels in journalism and technology. MediaGoblin is a federated, server-side software that is an alternative to corporate platforms like Flickr and YouTube. Not only MediaGoblin replace corporate multimedia-sharing sites, it does so by aggregating all types of multimedia content in one place. It is an excellent solution for independent media activists and groups. MediaGoblin requires installation on a server, but we propose that the WFFM have its own MediaGoblin for participants to share their coverage of the WFFM and WSF events in Montreal. Come and create an account on WFFM’s multimedia sharing site, upload your media, choose the way you want to share it and collaborate afterwards and learn how to replicate our setup for your own projects!
